E' stato istituito il Consiglio scientifico cittadino per la tutela e lo sviluppo dei parchi: ne faranno parte, in questa prima fase, undici esperti "nel campo delle scienze naturali e della terra, dell’architettura e del paesaggio, dell’archeologia e della land art", che opereranno in stretta collaborazione fra loro e con gli uffici comunali preposti e, in particolare, con il sindaco e l’assessore all’Ambiente.

The Scientific Council will work to support the whole system of municipal parks including protected areas of the Park of the Cascine di Tavola, the Monteferrato and Calvana, the territorial area of \u200b\u200bthe park and Gonfienti Bisenzio River, all areas that have different characteristics from both a morphological point of view-that the historical-cultural landscape, both to flora and fauna.

The experts of the Scientific Council will be responsible to carry out studies and monitoring, research and analysis, address, issues relating to environmental, territorial, historical, artistic, cultural, archaeological, natural and for the defense of the flora and fauna. La durata in carica del Consiglio corrisponde alla durata del mandato del sindaco.
